- I sat down with Ronit Falevitch, facialist to the stars, to discuss skin elasticity tips
- She recommends gentle exfoliation, stimulation and hydration, in addition to micro-needling and retinol
- Ronit also believes healthy glowing skin starts with a healthy gut!
In addition to diligently sticking to a daily routine, one of the things I think is critical to healthy and vibrant skin is getting an expert facial at least once a month. I’ve been going to Ronit Falevitch in Beverly Hills for so long now I can’t even remember how many years it’s been.
Ronit is a clinically trained-esthetician with 22 years of experience. She’s trained with top dermatologists and plastic surgeons in Beverly Hills and her loyal clientele includes the who’s who of the rich and famous. Not only was Ronit listed as one of the top beauty pros in the country by W Magazine and by THR, she was voted as one of the best estheticians in L.A. by Fox 11 news.
Ronit’s reputation and credentials are amazing, but the real reason I’ve been such a loyal client of hers is because of who she is as a person. She is passionately dedicated to helping everyone feel better about themselves and their skin. You know how sometimes you can just immediately tell when you’ve met someone truly kind and authentic? Ronit is exactly that kind of person for me and I trust her with my skin…and much more too.
I recently sat down with Ronit to focus on the topic of skin elasticity. As you might’ve read in my annual face checkup, this is one of the skin topics that I’m focused on recently. Here’s a summary of what we discussed:
- What are the best in-office treatments for skin elasticity issues?
I believe in gentle exfoliation, stimulation and hydration. Gentle exfoliation can be achieved by a glycolic or mild chemical peel. Along with skin stimulation with ultrasound and light therapy. I also believe in micro-needling for collagen stimulation and skin tightening.
- Any type of facial you would recommend in particular for skin elasticity issues?
Skin that losses elasticity can benefit from micro-needling and mild laser treatments. It helps to stimulate collagen and rebuild new skin cells.
- Which skincare products would you recommend?
I recommend using Retin A or Retinol twice a week at night. It helps with acne, wrinkles, and skin elasticity. Use creams and serums with hyaluronic acid for maximum hydration too. Of course, never forget sunscreen with zinc for maximum sun protection as well.
4. Are there any lifestyle habits/changes you would recommend for skin elasticity improvement?
Yes! Good skin starts with a healthy gut. Detox your body every couple of months, exercise daily, drink plenty of water, and eat fresh fruits and vegetables. Add healthy fat to your diet with avocado and nuts. I’m also a fan of probiotics and B complex supplements.
- Any other thoughts or tips on skin elasticity in general?
I believe in facial cupping, acupuncture, and a weekly facial massage. Any skin stimulation will benefit the skin by improving blood circulation and oxygen levels, which is key to glowing skin!
